The 11th of January saw a new event for Youth Fed, as the Dame Kelly’s Holmes Trust Community Champions, showcased their hard work to local employers.
The Community Champions programme ‘is designed to support and equip young people to become leaders and to increase social action within their communities. The programme is an opportunity for young people who have already completed the Trust’s flagship ‘Get on Track’ mentoring programme, to develop their leadership skills further to become agents of social change with their peers, families and communities.’
The young people of the Wirral and Halton programme joined together to recreate the model set out by Detroit SOUP (https://detroitsoup.com/) which links together enterprises and funding opportunities. Young People on the programme got the opportunity to present their ideas to the businesses in the room as well as having 1-2-1 speed interviews, a great opportunity for their own personal development.
Well done to our very own Laura Pudvine for making it all happen!
Good Luck with your projects folks and let us know how it goes!!!
