Fun lockdown activities for bank holiday weekend

Back

With the nation still in lockdown, it’s safe to say this bank holiday weekend will look very different to the usual. With day trips evening outings no longer on the cards, we’ve put together some great ideas for family activities you can do at home to make the most of the long weekend.

  1. Play an online escape room

A number of virtual escape rooms have emerged over the past few weeks, and we’re here for it! The whole family can work together in these to solve clues, puzzles and ultimately – escape the room. The Panic Room offer a huge number of rooms with different themes, starting from just £10 a game. Alternatively, if you’re feeling a bit creative – why not create your own?

  1. Create a home cinema

It might sound like a simple idea but stay with us on this one. You can fill the living room with lots of cosy pillows and cushions, pop some popcorn and get some tasty sweet treats and you can create your very own cinema atmosphere in your front room. Y

  1. Have a bake off

One thing that unites us all in lockdown is our love of food, and what better way to enjoy time at home than to spend it making something you can eat afterwards! Perhaps each member of your house can make their own creation for a bake off competition? You can find some fantastic easy-to-bake recipes on websites like BBC Good Food.

  1. Host a games night

Games are a great way of bringing everyone together for the chance to be competitive and silly too. You don’t even need to have a cupboard full of board games. There are some great games you can download straight onto your phone like Heads Up! And Just Dance Now and best yet, they’re also completely free!
