NCS Bespoke Programme at Pettypool Goes Viral

The bespoke programme is designed to ensure that all young people are included in the National Citizen Service programme and is specially tailored for the young people taking part. Pettypool College is a college for young people with learning disabilities.

Throughout the programme, the staff and young people had discussions around what they would like to do for their social action project and the result was the Pettypool Festival! The young people said they would never get the opportunity to attend a festival due to crowds and noise and therefore the challenge had been set, to pull together a festival in 6 weeks!

Safe to say they weren’t disappointed! On the day there were no less than 7 live acts – local music artists kindly donated their time for free. Mr Tees Ice Cream gave out free ice cream, there was popcorn, smoothies, face painting. Young people got the opportunity to send their aspirations and wishes into the sky on bio-degradable balloons.

We were also so very fortunate to have visits from the BBC NW news team as well as Northwich Guardian.
