As part of Nesta’s Rapid Recovery Challenge, national poverty charity Turn2us has partnered with Lightning Social Ventures, a purpose-led Fintech startup founded during the pandemic, to develop a speedier digital grants platform that reduces paperwork, increases security and fundamentally helps get cash into people’s pockets quicker. This enables people in financial hardship to apply for support more quickly and securely, receive a decision sooner and get on a faster road to financial recovery.
The team are also starting a Social Innovation Council to work collaboratively with other support organisations to co-design ways for individuals to more easily access support from a range of providers, while streamlining the process and reducing paperwork for organisations offering support.
