Alex’s Story
Alex initially signed up to Talent Match which offers individually tailored mentor support for the most vulnerable young people aged 15-29.
Before joining the Talent Match programme, Alex was unmotivated and had low self-esteem. In 2020, Alex was introduced to Talent Match by his advisor at Career Connect. Over time through one-to-one meetings, and after being set goals to achieve, things started to change. Alex started to set goals and attended a construction training course which gave him self-confidence and vision. This helped him to develop his skills and now attends a Rail Track Maintenance course.
Alex wants to have a paid job in the industry and is keen to develop all the skills he needs. It’s a fantastic achievement and he’s on track to have the future he deserves.
