Jack’s Story
Jack initially signed up to New Leaf which offers 1-2-1 mentoring to help get young people into work or education.
Jack is severely autistic and struggles with social skills and independent living, and had been on New Leaf for a while.
He was very hesitant to take part in an independent living course and initially was reluctant to take part in NCS. He eventually agreed and completed the course where he had a fantastic time meeting new people. Since completing the course, Jack has signed up to the graduate Youth Board.
NCS has opened up social opportunities for Jack and has given him the confidence to take up an independent living course through ChAPS. This has proven a great relief to his dad as he has always been concerned about Jack’s future.
