What is it?

Youth Fed empowers young people, giving them the best start in life by offering practical and emotional support to make positive and well-informed choices to reach their full potential.

12-week programmes to build resilience, develop skills and start considering their next steps into early adulthood.

They will discover employment, education and training opportunities, including new/ alternative options they and their families may be unaware of, e.g. T-Levels, apprenticeships, traineeships, new college locations and free/subsidised transport. It is clear from conversations with young people that lacking an understanding of opportunities is not the only barrier to planning their future after school/college, therefore our holistic approach includes developing life-skills, improving confidence and communication, learning workplace conduct and managing mental health, as part of the programme.

They will complete an Mental Health 1st aid and Emergency 1st aid at Work course, as well as plan and deliver social action activities in their communities.

Young people have different needs and are not all ready to achieve the same results, so they receive a tailored support plan with realistic and achievable goals to help them move towards being employment ready and start making positive life choices. Similar successful programmes in other locations provided.

This project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund
