Who’s it for
What is it?
We will develop three groups of 15 young people aged 12-15 from Ellesmere Port, Chester and the Northwich/Winsford area, who will meet (at least) monthly for up to 6 months to plan and carry out social action projects to improve and address gaps/inequalities in the communities where they live.
The youth worker will support them away from monthly group sessions with continued planning/delivery and personal development, plus signposting into other programmes where necessary (i.e. mental health support).
Being a truly youth-led charity, our approach gives young people a genuine and equal voice, and they are empowered to lead on the positive changes they want to make. We are very experienced in supporting young people to identify social action opportunities that matter to them, whether that is fundraising for a local cause, offering support to residents in their community or carrying out an environmental project to improve their local area. Our youth worker will support young people to work together, develop team-work skills and learn positive communication.
Alongside delivering various social action activities, they will also be involved with planning a 2023/24 community event in their own towns, which is an opportunity for us to celebrate their achievements.
